Marching into Spring

Little by little the weather is warming up and the sun is shining more. Today is Daylight Savings Time – Spring Ahead and all that good stuff.  I’m not so crazy about losing an hour of sleep – it seems to take me a week or two to adjust to the new time – but I love the longer days.

I’ve already got a big corned beef in the slow-cooker and I’m slowly getting through the laundry. I got my hair done yesterday (Thank God for Callie!) and took Esmerelda to the vet. She is having surgery on Tuesday for a cancerous lump on her side, so please pray that all goes well. She is such a little sweetheart & we’ve come a long way together.

Our little inside garden is doing fantastic & we have some crocus sticking their tiny leaves out outside. Yay! I just can’t wait to get outside and start digging in the dirt!

Jim was hard at work yesterday – he has started the remodel on our lower-level bathroom. We’re putting in a big walk-in tiled shower & I’m pretty damned excited about it. (I say “we” because I’ll probably help with the tiling and stuff, but we’ll see)

I definitely need to do a garage sale this spring and clear out some of our stuff that we’ve accumulated. Eventually we’ll get Jim’s pool table over here and have a game room downstairs. We’re also putting in a 4th bedroom & a bar, but that may be a while before it’s all completed. Plus Jim’s going to open up the entryway downstairs & we’re going to do some built-in storage down there.

It’s a big house & we have a lot of projects that we always want to get done first, but I would really love to get a good start on the lower level. Especially with our new patio & the fact that we’ll be coming and going from downstairs a lot more.

Jim is very good at this remodeling thing. I’m constantly amazed at the projects he takes on himself and how great he is at everything.
